At first these trimmers were doing well. As owner of 4 doggies we have had 2 other clipper sets and this unit has not owned up to expectations. During normal trimming of an already brushed and combed dog, there is a problem w dog hair getting in the guards and jamming the clipping blade. We finally got a TSC in our town and I bought this today. Spent a lot of time reviewing dog clippers and watching YouTube videos of professional groomers. They obviously have more equipment in their arsenal.
I had an $80 Andis I bought years ago that I would rate higher. Not sure why this brand are so hot in the grooming market. I had to dig around in the case to finally find the oil and brush . Additionally, the clipper had little hairs on it, and the blade and plastic had nicks. The various attachments allow for flexibility also.
The second battery that it comes with is great so you can have one charging while you are trimming. I especially love the color it comes in. He was not so much scared of noise by then, but did not like vibration when touched. He got more used to it all as he was trimmed more and I did most of sides and back in one attempt the second time I trimmed him. I had to give it three brakes to cool down, for fear it would burn out and break.
